Sashbear Walk

It was a true privilege to cut the ribbon at Saskatoon’s very first Sashbear Walk, hosted by the Sashbear Foundation, a national leader for families and individuals affected by borderline personality disorder (BPD). The first ever walk in Saskatoon marked an important step forward in raising awareness, breaking down stigma, and fostering community support for those living with BPD.

Borderline personality disorder is a complex and often misunderstood mental health condition. Individuals affected by BPD may experience intense emotional responses, difficulty with relationships, and challenges in managing day-to-day life. Despite these struggles, with the right support, treatment, and understanding, recovery and improved quality of life are absolutely possible.

The Sashbear Foundation has been a beacon of hope for countless families across Canada. Through education, advocacy, and their evidence-informed Family approach, they empower loved ones with tools and knowledge to support someone with BPD while also taking care of their own well-being. Their work helps to create a more compassionate, informed, and resilient mental health landscape.

Seeing people come together for this walk was powerful and moving. Thank you to all the organizers, and volunteers who helped bring this important event to life. Together, we are creating space for healing, understanding, and connection.

Congratulations to the Sashbear Foundation Saskatoon on this incredible milestone.
